YouTube Videos In High Resolution

Some people have asked me how come the embedded YouTube videos on The Presurfer are of much better quality than the ones you can find on the YouTube site. There’s a little hack I use and it goes like this.

Copy the embed code of the video you want to show from YouTube. Then add ‘&ap=%2526fmt%3D18′ at the places shown in red below.

The YouTube Gunman

Just 24 hours after 22-year-old Matti Saari was questioned by police after he posted a disturbing YouTube video and released because he had the proper gun license, he went to a school and opened fire on students:

Saari uploaded disturbing footage onto YouTube of himself practising at a firing range and turning to the camera to proclaim: ‘You will die next.’

Worried police interviewed the second-year domestic science student about the clips - but, because he had an appropriate gun license, did not take him into custody.

Just one day later he stormed into an exam hall and opened fire with an automatic weapon before killing himself.

‘object’ Photographic Experience By George Watson

The ‘object’ by George Watson. His ‘object’ has won the New Designers Vtech award! A vision of how we could deal with the storage of digital data more physically and tangibly within the home, the system enables users to associate data to domestic momentos picking up on the way they are displayed around the home to create meaningful links between physical and virtual domains. for example if an image of a beach is taken, pebbles are often associated with the landscape. you may have a pebble in your house, so you would roll the pebble over the ‘object’ viewer and an images of the beach will appear. Hard to know, see this video.

Radiohead - House Of Cards

radiohead’s newest music video claims to be the first ever to be shot without use of cameras or lights. of course, that’s bit about “first ever” is total bullshit, but the video based on a technology called data visualization looks cool. and you can only see it if you click here.
and even more important to note here is the fact how masterfully the guys from Radiohead work the social online media craze so many marketers and agencies are at a loss to grasp. huge respect, Radiohead!

Denis Darzacq takes unique photos

Denis Darzacq

Denis Darzacq’s photography is fantastic (and almost unbelievable) when you consider the fact that “there is nothing false in these scenes. These moments really occurred. There is no fiction, no retouching or special effects”.

Instead, he uses athletic and gymnastic young folks as well as good timing to make it look like his subjects are about to smack the ground face first.

Denis Darzcq Video

In Denis’ own words, “at the moment of the leap, chance and gravity also intervened”.

FIFA 3 Street: WoW

I came across a very cool trailer for FIFA3, which then lead me to a superb website that allows you to see and learn all the cool moves from the clip. I’m totally stunned. This really is amazing and the promo site must have cost a truckload of money because it looks very slick! Check this out:

It must be the child within me that admires these supernatural skills and probably the long forgotten dream to run around with 21 other morons on a football field, chasing a round leather rabbit, but somewhere… I’ve always wanted to be a super pro footballer. Just like almost every sane man, I think. The thing is, I dug up my soccer ball again and actually started to try out the moves to make me feel better. And it helps.
