Bond may wear Omega, but his adversaries apparently prefer Swatch. The Swatch 007 Villain Collection ($60-$245) includes 22 watches — one for each 007 movie — inspired by Bond bad guys like Dr. No and Oddjob.

This Average Day watch(GBP 100; about $200) eschews the conventional division of a day into 24 hours, instead it divides into units of median daily routine. Designed by Crispin Jones. I love this design, this watch is produced as a signed limited edition of 100 pieces, each watch has its edition number engraved on the back of the case.

TAG Heuer has done it again with its revolutionary design the Grand CARRERA Calibre 36 RS Caliper Concept Chronograph. The watch that is equipped with column wheel movement, is destined to become the first mechanical automatic chronograph able to measure and display 1/10th of a second. Also the central seconds hand ticks off 1/10th of a second intervals, providing at-a-glance readings of the greatest precision.

CoolClock is a customisable javascript analog clock. Because CoolClock requires canvas support it works best in Firefox or Safari.
CoolClock can work in IE via the use of ExplorerCanvas however in IE it refreshes slowly, doesn’t render as nicely and the second hand decoration is disabled due to a rendering glitch.

California based Nixon Watches has announced their latest R1G1 analog watch. This old school designed watch has a set of four mechanical hands to keep track of time and date.
Two hands rotate around the middle of the dial, one displaying seconds and the other showing minutes and the two that looks like speedometer gauges will display the hour and the day of the month.
The R1G1 is available at $150.00 - $200.00.

Even fashion stuff now goes eco-friendly. One of them, The Ray from Quicksilver, a watch which is hand-crafted from real ebony wood sourced from sustainable managed forests. The Ray is produced in limited quantities; only 1000 of them were produced.
It features stainless steel and brass automatic movement, a non-traditional clock face, and components made from 100% recyclable anti-allergy stainless steel, aluminum, and mineral crystal.
It takes some time for me to understand the clock movement. No words on pricing.

New for Fall, the Nixon Magnacon Watch ($600) is a mid-range wrist piece with some style. It features 6-hand Swiss-made chronograph movement with date and day, a 200 meter titanium carbide coated stainless steel case with sapphire crystal, and a custom developed ballistic nylon strap.

This is the steampunk styled Casio G-Shock G8100A-5 Watch, priced at $100. Bronze in color and features standard shock-resistant, auto backlights with afterglow world time with 29 time zones (48 cities), countdown timer, two multi-function alarms (with one snooze alarm), and an auto calendar (pre-programmed until the year 2099, yeah by that time you are going to give it to your grandchildren). The watch is housed in an aluminum case with perforated resin band. Go G-shock site and get one.

Known as Colosso, by Hyssek. It is priced more than a sports car, $550000, comes with a “crystal pustule filled with a dimensional earth rotating for local or GMT time.” But wtf, a $550000 on your wrist ~ just for time, well I’m speechless if it has a higher resell value.

Suspended in a bubble block of Baccarat crystal and powered by temperature change, Jaeger LeCoultre’s Atmos 561 mechanical clock has been designed by Marc Newson. The Atmos 561 clocks don’t need to be wound up. they get all the energy to run from small temperature changes in the encapsulated environment, and can run for years without human intervention. Its power source is a hermetically sealed capsule containing a mixture of gas and liquid ethyl chloride, which expands into an expansion chamber as the temperature rises, compressing a spiral spring; with a fall in temperature the gas condenses and the spring slackens. This motion constantly winds the mainspring. A variation in temperature of only one degree in the range between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius is sufficient for two days’ operation. Cool!!
